the American revolution was an uphill battle against the British for American freedom and some say the if the French didn’t help the American fight for freedom would not have been successful and Briton would still have control of the Americas. the reason for France's involvement in the American revolution was the long term rivalry between France and Briton and to get revenge for the seven years’ war. France's involvement began shortly after America captured the British invasion army at Saratoga. But it was not the only reason for France joining the revolution but also the efforts of Benjamin Franklin. Although after the Siege of Yorktown, Benjamin Franklin never informed France of the secret negotiations that took place between Britain and the United States. Britain acknowledged that the United States owned all the land south of the Great Lakes and east of the Mississippi River, except for Florida (which went to Spain). However, since France was not included in the American-British peace discussions, the alliance between France and the U.S. was weakened. also a few of the French soldiers brought back the nationalistic ideas from America which may have caused some of the events that led up to the French revolution
