The storming of the Bastille occurred on July, 14, 1789 the armory and prison in Paris named bastille, it was holding only 7 prisoners but it’s storming symbolized the abuses of the French monarchy and was the start of the French revolution. On the morning of July 14 1789 the Third Estate in France, now under the control of the Bourgeois Militia stormed the Hotel des Invalides without meeting opposition, they had planned to gather 30,000 muskets but realized that They had been moved to bastille. A little before noon the third estate gathered at The Bastille and demanded the surrender of the prison, the gunpowder and bullets two representatives where allowed in to negotiate. After noon the crowd around the prison started to become restless and a small party climbed onto the roof of a building next to the gate and broke the chains on the drawbridge Gunfire began, suddenly, turning the crowd into a mob. The crowd seems to have felt that they had been drawn into a trap and the fighting became even more violent Ninety-eight attackers and one defender had died in the fighting. But the third estate had gotten what they needed
